The taste of this black leaf tea is refined, delicately floral with noticeable notes of honey and spices. The word "kou-cha" translates as "crimson-colored tea." This term wakoucha owes to soft Japanese water, which dried dyed in a shade of dark red with an admixture of blue. That is also why in the past it was called red tea. When infused with water of medium hardness, more typical for European countries, the wakouchy infusion acquires an intense dark amber color. Moya Wakoucha is from the Mie region of Honshu. Black wakoucha tea will work as a companion of meals and desserts, the sweetness of which will break with its taste. Like any black tea, wakoucha is dried after harvest and then subjected to a fermentation process, which distinguishes it from green tea. The result of this process is its dark color, slightly earthy taste and lower caffeine content than, for example, in green sencha.
HOW TO PREPARE
- Pour 3 g of tea into a cup and pour 150 ml of water at a temperature of 90-95 degrees Celsius.
